Tell me a bit about yourself

I am a fully qualified Teacher of the Alexander Technique and a member of the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT).

For many years I worked as a chartered accountant, qualifying with PricewaterhouseCoopers in the 1990s. The stresses of the modern corporate world slowly began to affect my wellbeing, resulting in pain and fatigue. After years of failed interventions and surgeries I discovered the Alexander Technique and realised that my problems were a direct result of how I was using my own body.

Regular lessons helped me to regain full health and become completely pain free.

My own personal interest lies in applying the Technique to my freediving and strength training. I have found the Technique invaluable in learning to freedive with no undue tension in the body and remain convinced that the Alexander Technique is the reason I can train regularly free of pain.

At my home practice I have a free weights studio equipped with Olympic barbell and half rack, which can accommodate squats, deadlifts, bench press, pull ups and overhead press. The Technique can also be applied to running with outdoor lessons at any local park. I would be delighted to work with anyone interested in learning the Alexander Technique as a foundation for becoming fitter, faster and stronger.

But most of all I remain passionate about teaching the Technique to anyone from any walk of life – as a foundation for a healthy and pain-free life!
